Is All of Your Company’s Critical Data Protected?

A recent survey conducted by Revinetix showed that 68% of companies are not backing up data on desktops or laptops within their company.  The most common response as to why storage of potential critical data was neglected was that the company has a policy that critical data is to be stored on servers which in turn are backed up.  But, are these policies really being followed?  Today, I see a press release from  Kroll Ontrack stating that a survey they conducted shows that 61% of individuals usually save to a local drive instead of a network drive and often the local drives are not protected—44% of respondent’s preferred area of storage is not backed up.

Can  companies afford to continue to neglect the edge of their network?  One reason holding companies back could be the cost of obtaining and managing licenses for each piece of hardware that they want to backup in their network.  Revinetix’ site license makes protecting desktops and laptops a reality.  Revinetix Sentio and Volo data protection appliances come standard with a site license that protects an unlimited number of clients and lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) when protecting the data on your entire network.
